Research Symposium, 17th June at The School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg The Centre for Tourism at The School of Business, Economics and Law, Gothenburg University,  is a co-organiser of the European Cities Marketing Annual Conference in June.

The Centre for Tourism at The School of Business, Economics and Law, Gothenburg University,  is a co-organiser of the European Cities Marketing Annual Conference in June.

The centre is hosting a research symposium on Wednesday 17th June including key-note speeches and paper presentations from prestigious international researchers such as  Professor Donald Getz and Dr. Joe Goldblatt. Key-note speech topics will for example cover economic impacts of events, cooperation in event networks, and future research needs in the field of events research. In the afternoon about 20 research papers will be presented in parallel tracks. The papers cover various topics on sports events, meetings and festivals and cultural events, ranging from creating sustainable events to customer satisfaction in Christmas festivals to the development of innovative transport solutions at events. On Wednesday evening, the Centre for Tourism is hosting a reception at The School of Business, Economics and Law together with Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Group. The Centre for Tourism hopes that the symposium will lead to fruitful discussions and dialogue between researchers and professionals in the tourism field.
