Lviv gathers meetings and events industry professionals during the 4th Annual Tourism Forum “Win with the Lion”

As the only European Cities Marketing (ECM) member in Ukraine for now, Lviv enjoys the benefits of a network of over 110 European travel destinations. During its annual forum “Win with the Lion”, on 21-22 November 2012 Lviv brings together a vast collective of tourism professionals, private stakeholders and entrepreneurs from the whole of Ukraine as well as throughout Europe for interactive exchanges and innovative ideas about tourism marketing, trends and shortcomings in Lviv.

This year’s forum will focus on the Meetings and Events Industry, as the organizers are sure, it has great potential in Ukraine and Lviv in particular. During the Forum we will ask the question: The meetings and events industry – Ukraine, are you ready to benefit?
The event receives great support from Tourism Office (Lviv City Council), Lviv Tourism Development Centre, decision-makers and local stakeholders; among them is DikArt event management company, local Forum partner.

In cooperation with General Forum Partner, ECM members cities representatives are invited to share best practices on the topic – Ignacio de Delàs (Deputy General Manager Turisme de Barcelona), Roger Pride (Managing Director at Cardiff and Co), Beata Palis (Managing Director of Krakow Convention Bureau). Meetings industry leaders will make presentations on new trends and challenges to be considered by new destinations – Paul Kennedy (Director and Owner of Kennedy Integrated Solutions a meetings industry consultancy), Elisabeth Hansa (Owner of ICBD – Hansa, International consultancy and business development, Meeting industry and corporate events), and Tom Hulton (Director International Relations IMEX Group).

Forum Partner IMEX Group is one of the world’s leading companies organizing exhibitions for incentive travel, meetings and events. The IMEX Group organizes two yearly major events worldwide, IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America in Las Vegas. However, Ray Bloom, Chairman of IMEX Group, is not only organizing exhibitions but is also very engaged in Education and Development of the meetings industry worldwide. The organization of The Politicians Forum held during IMEX in Frankfurt each year proves his commitment to highlighting the value of the industry to governments worldwide.

“Win with the Lion” is evolving year by year, adding new sessions. This year, delegates will hear from the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) in a seminar on the topic of “How Ukraine can stay on the map in 2013?”. This is organised in partnership with ETOA and moderated by Nick Greenfield, the Head of Tour Operator Relations."

As last year the Tourist Information Workshop proved to be such a popular session, it will continue this year in cooperation with Forum Partner GIZ organizers, inviting newly established tourist information centres from all over Ukraine to gain knowledge and share best practices from European experts – Paola Casubolo (CEO of Lovingenova, Genoa’s Tourism Development & Promotion Office, Italy), Gabriela Schweinberger (International business coach and consultant, Berlin, Germany), Freya Sackx (Ghent Tourist Information Centre, Belgium), Nadezhda Petrova (Deputy General Manager of St. Petersburg Tourist Information Centre), and Olena Holysheva (Head of Lviv Tourist Information Centre, Ukraine).

Win with the Lion is a platform for networking, making new partnerships and contacts, sharing ideas and experiences. This is a platform where you can meet industry practitioners, benefit from their expertise and create new business opportunities.
