What motivated you to candidate for being the ECM vice-president ?
\n
My 17 years working experience in the meetings Industry! During this time, I have met wonderful people, clients, and colleagues and created a network. ECM is a big part of this great network, with endless opportunities to learn, exchange information, and work together on different projects. I would like to support and put something back into the global meetings industry. In particular, I want to work with all members to create new services and win-win situations for convention bureaux.

For me Berlin as a city is…
\n
…. an astonishing and colourful mosaic of people and languages, cultures and lifestyles. It’s a city of rare openness, energy and style, showcasing world-class dining, shopping, history, outstanding architecture, a wonderful countryside and much much more. It is a great place to live and work.

\n
The project at work I am most preoccupied with at the moment…
\n
…working at the final version of the 2012 marketing plan of the Berlin Convention Office of visitBerlin. This project includes projects with our partners, such as congress hotels, agencies and congress centres as well the activities taking place within the framework of ECM’s Conventions Committee. We have to focus on trends, economic developments and the needs of the members.
\n
\n
My favourite activity…
\n
..to meet friends and explore new things in my city like new galleries, museums, restaurants – in Berlin as well as other destinations throughout the world.
\n
\n
The place I would most like to visit…
\n
The city of St. Petersburg. I haven’t been there so far and I am really looking forward to taking part in the ECM Spring conference in March next year.
\n
\n
A successful destination in the world of tourism …
\n
… what can I say, for me it is Barcelona. The city is so successful with the international conferences and events it stages.
\n
\n
If I could change one thing in the world, I would…
\n
….. like to change the “Global Warming”. There are so many resources we needlessly use, and the Western World has a lot to learn to protect and save energy and the Third World should be better educated.
