“Organising Your Congress in Europe with European Know-How”: European cities to share expertise during Smart Monday, prior to IMEX America
For the first time, ECM is providing a 45-minute educational slot during Smart Monday, ahead of IMEX America, on October 13, 2014.
Smart Monday powered by MPI (Meetings Professionals International) and supported by other association partners, including ECM, kicks off IMEX America 2014 on Monday, October 13. This event provides clients (agencies, associations and corporate involved with meetings, conferences, and conventions) a full day of education in various learning formats and cutting-edge career development.
The ECM session entitled “Organising Your Congress in Europe with European Know-How” will be moderated by Heike Mahmoud (ECM Vice-president for the Meetings Industry and Director Conventions visitBerlin, Berlin Conventions Office) along with representatives from European Convention Bureaux (Cecile Dorian, International Promotion Manager, Barcelona Turisme Convention Bureau and Jonas Wilstrup, Congress Director, Wonderful Copenhagen Convention Bureau).
During this session, clients will discover how Europeans Convention Bureaux do business and how they can boost clients’ overseas events: the specific resources that are available for them in Europe like support networks, the way European Convention Bureaux are structured, the kind of services they offer, the ambassador programs and more.
The outcomes for the attendees will be more than a few! They will have the opportunity to meet professional leaders from the European meeting industry and gain new perspectives to improve their meetings and events. Clients will also have the occasion to develop their event’s potential, through the exchange of information and best practices. And, finally, they will have the chance to get the latest information on the development of European meetings destinations.
Heike Mahmoud commented: “I am thrilled to moderate a session at this year’s Smart Monday to explain to local clients the specificities of European Know-How and assets in the organisation of congresses. This opportunity to present at IMEX America is another milestone in our partnership with IMEX, and we are proud to contribute to the international meeting industry as a whole.”
