Geneva Tourism and Digital Tourism Think Tank launch GCC Market Workshop: Digital and Open for Businesses

Celebrating the EU’s decision to waive visa restrictions for citizens from the United Arab Emirates, the Digital Tourism Think Tank has teamed up with Geneva Tourism and Conventions Bureau to bring an exciting one-day event on the GCC Market: “Digital and Open for Business”.

As the first Arab country to acquire the visa waiver status, this marks a groundbreaking opportunity for European tourism industry to tap-into and is expected to serve as a catalyst for future development of the market.

In this one-day special event hosted at the magnificent Parc des Eaux-Vives in Geneva, we’re pulling together a great programme comprising a hands-on workshop divided into four parts and cutting-edge insights from destinations and global brands.

As a once-only, one-day market workshop, we’re inviting market expert Kumud Sengupta, from Market Vision to explain everything NTOs need to know about the market, including:

  • Introducing the GCC market – snapshot at the current trends and travel behaviours, typical GCC tourism characteristics and travel behaviour habits;
  • Working with the GCC travel trade – how GCC trade is organised and the role of the travel agencies;
  • Understanding the GCC traveller of tomorrow – a detailed look at the online travel market and
    individual needs of GCC market;
  • Marketing and Promotion – how to reach the GCC traveller, marketing and communication
    channels

Great experts are lined up for the day:

  • Matthias Albrecht from Switzerland Tourism about their strategy in the market and how they’ve worked with other destinations to boost their media reach
  • Cees Bosselaar from Phocuswright will be launching their latest Middle East Online Travel Market Report, with fresh insights on consumer behaviour
  • Dubai based entrepreneur Danish Farhan from Xisché & Co. will be sharing insights from global brands and also talking about their work in the market – everything from the UAE Mars Mission, to Dubai Tourism, Dubai Parks and Resorts and many more.
