#TourMIS2025

City Destinations Alliance, the European Travel Commission, and Modul University Vienna cordially invite you to the 20th TourMIS Users’ Workshop & International Seminar on “Positive Social Impact of Tourism”, which will take place on September 11-12, 2025 in Vienna. We will be hosting the event on-site at Modul University in Vienna.
The event is aimed at city, regional, national, and international tourism organisations, as well as universities and companies from the hospitality and tourism industry.
It is directed toward managers, academics, as well as consultants and representatives of governments and international organisations dealing with tourism. Participants are invited to register for both days or can choose to participate in just one event.
‘‘You can’t manage what you don’t measure’’ says Peter F. Drucker. The evaluation and monitoring of marketing activities is a vital step in helping tourism managers to develop marketing strategies. Nowadays, technology provides valuable support to facilitate the performance of complex analyses and TourMIS, the leading tourism marketing information system in Europe, effectively serves this aim. By attending the workshop led by Professor Karl Wöber, founder of TourMIS on the first day, participants will learn how to enter tourism statistics into the system and how to use various benchmarking tools to produce valuable market research reports.
The International Seminar “Positive Social Impact of Tourism” on day 2 has been shaped and will be led by City Destinations Alliance. Together, we’ll explore what social impact really means and why it matters for destinations and local communities. How can we measure it in a meaningful and practical way? And how do we translate results into powerful, honest storytelling? Throughout the day, participants will be inspired by real-world examples, research insights, and innovative measurement frameworks. Interactive workshops will offer space to exchange experiences, co-create ideas, and test new tools. The seminar brings together destinations, knowledge institutions, and tourism professionals in an open, collaborative setting. Join us and discover how tourism can deliver real value for people, places, and society.
