13th CityDNA Visitor Experience Expert Meeting 2026, Valencia

#CityDNAVisitorExperience
Join us for the 13th CityDNA Visitor Experience Expert Meeting that will be held in Valencia on November 19-20, 2026.
How TICs empower local communities
For many years, tourism has been viewed primarily from the perspective of visitors. Today, however, we want to shift the focus towards the people who live in our destinations. Our goal is to demonstrate, through real-life examples and successful initiatives from across Europe, that tourism can be a transformative force when it is managed responsibly and sustainably.
Tourism is much more than an economic activity. It is an industry capable of creating direct and indirect jobs, generating opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, attracting investment, and fostering innovation. But it’s not all about money neither: employment opportunities for people with disabilities, opening the touristic sites to locals for a lower price (or for free), reinvesting the local tourist tax in making locals life better, letting the residents to take part in the next year’s festival program… these are just some examples.
We also want to highlight the role tourism plays in improving infrastructure and public services. The development and modernisation of public spaces, cultural facilities, transport networks, visitor information services, and digital infrastructure can benefit both visitors and residents alike. When planned effectively, tourism-related investment contributes to a better quality of life for local communities.
However, this congress is not about idealising tourism. We are fully aware of the challenges many destinations face. For this very reason, we want to share experiences that demonstrate how it is possible to develop tourism models that are more balanced, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of local communities.
Throughout these sessions, we will discover inspiring projects, hear from professionals from different countries, and discuss how tourism can become a tool that truly serves people. After all, the success of a destination should not be measured solely by the number of visitors it attracts, but by the well-being and opportunities it creates for the people who call it home.
Welcome to this space for sharing, learning, and collaboration. Together, let us build destinations that create value, opportunities, and a brighter future for our communities.
Our Visitor Experience Expert Meeting offers a mix of incentive and exchange opportunities for all attendees. This is why the diversity of participants is of great importance to us.
This event is exclusively for managers and TIC front office professionals coming from small and large cities and working for either public or private tourist information organisations – whether they are CityDNA members or not.
The aim of the meeting is of course to get to know your European colleagues, to share knowledge with them but most of all, we want you to have fun and leave full of inspiration, with a bunch of new friends. We are looking forward to welcoming you for this 12th edition!
