ECM Meetings Statistics Report 2012: initial results in sight

ECM Meetings Statistics Report 2012: ready, steady, go! Given the very warm welcome received by the first edition of the ECM Meetings Statistics Report, the Research & Statistics Group is delighted to announce that the project will be continued in 2012.

May and June are traditionally crucial months for the meetings industry: not only because they correspond to a high season with numerous corporate and non-corporate events taking place, but also because the results of some key reports taking the pulse of the sector are communicated during this period. The ICCA Country and City Rankings are released in May, UIA’s International Meetings Statistics in June and since 2011, the first results of the European Cities Marketing Statistics Report are presented during the ECM Summer Meeting and General Assembly.

The ECM Research & Statistics Knowledge Group is currently putting a great deal of effort in to its work so as to be able to provide ECM members with an overview of the performances of the meetings sector in European cities on four key segments: international corporate meetings, international non-corporate meetings, national corporate meetings and national non-corporate meetings. Four members of the group met in Amsterdam on 21st May to analyse the data and provide project leader Olivier Drouet with all the necessary guidance and support to make this second edition a success.

Initial results will be communicated on Friday 8th June to ECM members participating in the ECM Summer Meeting and General Assembly in Zagreb. The report itself will be published at a later stage so as to be able to include the feedback provided by the audience. As last year, the ECM Meetings Statistics Report will be made available to ECM members only and will be free of charge.
